My Vertical Farm in Abu Dhbai

Finally I got a small space in the middle of Abu Dhabi city. This is a small plot, a discarded garden with a few eggplants and some leafy vegetables growing here and there. Now I am spending all my free time to bring it to shape as a model garden to convince people that you don't need large space to produce vegetables.

I wish people take initiative to liven independently. Common people think that they are helping poor farmers to survive by buying vegetables from the market. There is a long chain of agents and sub agents who take most of what we pay and finally what filters down to the poor farmer is just ten or maximum twenty percent of what we pay.
By growing our vegetables we are fighting silently against:
1. The dirty chemical industry that sells poison
2. Crooks who soak vegetable in that poison, just because they are going to market
3. Lazy people who pay for them, eat them and become a burden on public health

A small family needs one or two kilos of vegetables. It is easy to produce them from a small room size plot. You can even grow vegetable on your compound wall if there is a will.
Now keep watching this blog for the next three months and you will see a small garden developing right in front of your eyes.
I am spending an average one hour every day in the garden.
See some of the pictures after one week of cleaning work. Now there are a few flower pots that have to go to one corner and then clean up rest of the space to before I can start planting.
